No matter where you plan your next adventure you will always need good food after a long day of hiking, boating or whatever activity you were doing. Picking out a good restaurant while traveling can be a daunting challenge especially if you have a large party or picky eaters with you. I personally have spent 30-60 mins trying to pick out a place to eat using only google maps reviews to guide my decision, since you’re in a new area the restaurant you picked could end up having low quality food which ruins your entire night.

As a food lover myself I strive to provide my readers with the best restaurants I can find that I have personally tried based off recommendations from locals and such. This way you can ensure the restaurant you choose will have great quality food that will create memories that will last a lifetime. Here are some of my favorite restaurants that we have been to over the years.

Fire Sign Cafe, South Lake Tahoe, CA

My girlfriend and I found this spot as we were driving up the beautiful SR 207 that circles Lake Tahoe, we spotted an older looking cafe that was hidden between some buildings and a forest. Seeing as we were hungry for some good food after a long drive we were needlessly excited to sit down and order when the waitress tells us it was a 45min wait, so it wasn’t hidden very well that’s for sure. After we waited our turn for a table we sat down and ordered 2 breakfast burritos, 2 chai tea Lattes, and a short stack of banana nut pancakes on the side. The food we had previously at Lake Tahoe hadn’t been the best so I was thrilled to receive the beautiful plate of breakfast and that refreshing hot chai tea. To this day the breakfast burrito I had at Fire sign has to be the best one I have ever had in my entire life, the way it was made I just knew all the ingredients were homemade. Everything about that breakfast was delicious from the chai tea to the pancakes, Left that restaurant feeling full and satisfied to get back on the road. I would personally give this restaurant a 9.5/10 as the entire atmosphere felt homey while still having a great energy. If you are ever in the South Lake Tahoe area I would recommend this restaurant as they have the best breakfast in my opinion.
