No matter where you choose your next adventure there will always be that one spot all the locals rave about saying how amazing the views are and etc. Now don’t get me wrong that hike would probably be amazing just like they said it would’ve been, the only problem is all the parking is gone at 7:00 am due to the popularity. Julian County, California
If you ever visit this cute old fashioned town I would have to urge you to try a place called Julian Pie Company, since the county of Julian is known for their outstanding apples they harvest every year. Turning these apples into a plethora of delicious treats you can find around the town like apple cider, taffy, butter, and even ice cream! What makes this restaurant so special is their world famous award winning pies they make in house. Now I will tell you if you plan to get a pie you can count on a 30 min-60min+ as these pies have a fan base. What I love about this little bakery is how old fashioned all their food is and even the bakery looks like a typical 1900’s small cottage bakery, you can expect a clean, safe, and relaxing environment to enjoy your treats before heading back to shop some more.
Sugar Pine State Park, South Lake Tahoe, CA
If stunning views are what you are after Sugarpine State park had the clearest and coldest water I have ever swam in personally, with a 12ft dock you can jump off at the end makes this a popular hangout. I would recommend getting there before 7 to secure yourself a parking spot as the first time we went at 9 the entire beach parking was full already. Once we saw the water for ourselves we realized why so many people went there to swim for the day. In my personal opinion I think this is the best spot to have a picnic with family or a loved one because the views are really spectacular in person. This isn’t the only beach that has good beaches to swim in, just none of the others have such clear blue water plus a dock to jump off in between. If you’re coming to South Lake Tahoe you need to put Sugar Pine State Park on your vacation list because it’s a sight you’ll never forget.
